My first Chanel bag - Cruise Collection 2016

As the title says, my first Chanel bag! I have a few Chanel accessories like earrings, necklaces, rings and card holder but not a bag. So I did a lot a lot of research on which to get. Especially when it's the first one. Whether I want it in caviar, lambskin, calfskin with GHW or SHW etc. All these are definitely considerations before purchasing it! So when I was rostered a Milan flight, I told myself, I need to get one! I always wanted a Chanel bag since many years ago. But the price is so steep, I just can't bear to do it. And mainly because my card can't swipe that much amount of $$ back then.

So, I wanted a Chanel mini rectangular flap, in caviar with gold hardware. I've tried the medium, jumbo flap and all of them looks damn big on me. As I'm only 5'1, the bag looks very huge on my petite frame. It's like someone who is a regular XS wearing a L size shirt. So, except for mini, I'm not gonna take the rest of the size. Plus I've read so much on how many things a mini can hold compared to a medium flap! Due to the design of a double flap on the medium flap, it doesn't holds as much in a medium compared to a mini. 

The mini comes in 2 sizes, 1) the square 2) the rectangular. My first instinct is to get a rectangular one. Cause the square one just feels weird. Not as classy imo. There's only 1 Chanel in Milan. When I went in, the SA told me that there's no stock of the mini for the past 1 year already. My colleagues encourage me to look at what else they have in stocks. And I'm glad I did! The SA took out w few bags for me to try. My main objective was a small flap bag. After much consideration, I've finally decided on the small flap bag from the cruise collection!! It comes with blue, black, yellow, orange, pink etc. I wanted to do an unboxing video but seriously I was about to sleep and damn tired from the flight so, I skipped that. Haha.

I really like the small dangling Chanel logo at the chain! It's so pretty!!! It's a seasonal piece but the most highly raved piece! Saw it on a lot of YouTube videos about the size and the beautiful aged calfskin! Very timeless and vintage looking. Although it looks small but it's bigger than a rectangular mini and more spacious. The aged calfskin also makes the whole beauty looks exceptionally beautiful yet vintage. I didn't regret my choice of choosing a seasonal piece as my first Chanel although I really wanted a classic and the resale value of a classic is much much higher. But, I will not resale in anyway. So, am really loving this.

Ps, I'm not encouraging anyone to get such an expensive bag. And never get something that your savings can't pay off. Buy only when you have worked hard enough for it or you've saved long enough

As you know, this is really backdated. As much as I try to remember what happened on that day, I would rather share with you the precious photos I got from the trip. Everything is good. And I'm waiting to go back to the beautiful city again.

Last day working in the heart of Marina.

My last day with the company was 17th April. Can't believe I've left for close to 3.5 months. This year seems to fly past so fast. I cannot imagine how my life will stray and how different I will be if I've not met them. They shaped my thinking and perspective towards many things. When I first started not knowing anything till now, I can successfully says that I manage to experience many things that I've never had before. I really enjoy meeting new people, knowing their culture, knowing their background. Many heartfelt gratitude to the people that I've crossed paths with. This is definitely not goodbye. As I'm sure we'll cross paths again. 

Singapore Cafe - Top 3 brunch that I love!

I'm a huge fan of brunch! Name any cafe and I probably will have visited the place! I love eggs and sausages! Acutally i know all these items can be easily prepared at home. Instead of going to those insanely high-priced cafe place. But the atmosphere of having brunch at home and in cafe is really different. People always wonder why Singaporeans' like to take photos of their food. But, I think we all should! After all, there's so many mouth-watering food for you to order and eat and you definitely won't want to forget it! I use those photos I look to send to friends if they ask me where should they go for lunch, dinner etc! Here's some of my favourites!

 

1) Symmetry

Symmetry is always my favourite when i think of brunch's location. I super love their calamari with squid ink sauce! Sorry, there's no picture of that cause I was too hungry and I ate it way before the chance of photo taking. The brunch is filling and good. Their serving and display is delicious

 

2) Strangers’ Reunion

I walked pass this cafe and decided to go in. My intial plan that day was to go to Highlander Coffee but it was closed! So, we settled at Strangers' Reunion instead! And i really like the atmosphere there. Part of the reason why was because they have sofa seats and perfect egg benedict. Their House Smoked Salmon Benedict ($18.90) is also my favourite. I ordered camomile tea which comes with a pretty glass flask warm constantly. They also displayed some Klarra's collection in the cafe for us to browse and purchase if we are keen. Overall experience is good.

3) Lola's Cafe

Didn't get to eat Lola's cafe brunch. But manage to eat their famous finger food. Their Honey Paprika Chicken Wings is a must-try! Love every bit of their wings. This cafe is located near Kovan MRT. I went around 4pm when their brunch ended. So sad didn't get to try their brunch menu. But I must say, just their sides and dessert menu alone makes me want to go back again! I thought their Sticky Honey Apple Cake with Vanilla ice-cream is good too. Not too sweet for my liking.

I think this will change soon as there's so much more cafe to go to! But honestly, cafe business is really good. Most of the time, we paid $40 per pax each time we visit a cafe. Even restaurants aren't earning such good business, are they?

 

 

Make it Count

The future is and should be bright, what makes life valuable is that it doesn’t last forever, what makes it precious is that it ends. I know that now more than ever. And I say it today of all days to remind us that time is luck. So don’t waste it living someone else’s life, make yours count for something. Fight for what matters to you, no matter what. Because even if you fall short, what better way is there to live?

In Loving Memory, Mr Lee Kuan Yew

 

Today is day 6 of national mourning.

As the week is ending, this also marks the second last day to bid farewell to our founding father, Mr Lee Kuan Yew. For the past few days, we've been reading news of how he fought for Singapore's independence. An ordinary man who led an extra-ordinary life. There's so much to learn from him. People from all walks of life, regardless of language, race or religion went to the Parliament House to pay their last respect. Leaders from all over the world, tribute to our founding father. Being able to live and witness the changed he did is indescribable. The massive crowd and long wait at the Padang allowed me to see a different side of Singaporeans. A spirit we never knew existed in Singaporeans until now. Touched beyond words by the volunteers and army boys distributing water, food etc. Despite late in the night, they did what they could with a smile. No doubt that the queue was difficult. The wait was crazy, but never once I feel like giving up. I was determined to do what I could do, to pay my last respect. And I am so proud of being a part of it. As we reached the parliament house, our steps were heavy and slow. I've never thought his passing could affect me. While we mourn the passing of one of the greatest leader in the world, we celebrate his life and his incalculable contributions to Singapore and its people.
